Halloween Hallows 2007 Pictures
We knew eventually it had to come to an end And this year it did.
I'm not talking about Halloween Hallows, but about our perfect record of no rainouts.
After a very wet fall, things were looking up for a good day without rain;
But the morning of our event the weather men decided to put in a chance of rain.
They said it wouldn't last but a couple of hours; and after looking at the weather maps,
I was hopeful that it would be over real soon.
We loaded up and had everything ready to unload as soon as it stopped.
I kept checking the ground to make sure it wasn't getting too wet
and kept looking at the radar to see how fast it was moving through. (and yes... the Kansas City area was the only place accross the whole USA that was getting rain this morning) Finally an hour before we opened the gates I broke down and had to call it quits.
We had to go with our rainout date for the following weekend.
We lost a lot of volunteers that couldn't make it the second weekend,
but after spending the first half of the week making calls,
we were able to come up with just as much help. We couldn't have asked for a better day.
It turned out to be a beautiful sunny 80+ degrees,
Making our 6th year once again a major success.
