Halloween Hallows 2008 Pictures
2008 was another huge year for fun.
With the band adding a couple of dance contests and
with all new charactors in the woods; this year once again
broke records with the amount of children showing up to have some fun.
We had a 45' space ship slide that even the parents were wanting to ride down.
As always we were more than happy to have back "Parents As Teachers" and
Sonic. This year "Healthy Smile Dental Center" joined in on the fun handing
out apples to all the kids. We were lucky to get Darryl Woods,
a caricaturist to join us this year. The Kearney High School Art Department
helped out by doing some of the signs on the midway and the cutouts for picture taking.
The big attraction this year was by far one of the best to date-
"The Midway Of Horror".
A classic midway along an authentic wooden boardwalk.
We provided 17 carnival games incorporated with a monster twist for the kids
to play. At the end of the midway we had a redemption booth.
Along with the snacks, hayride, moonwalk, orange fence maze, crafts and
extended small kids area, not to mention the perfect weather,
it turned out to be another very successful year.

"The Musical Misfits" learning some new steps The dance contest was a huge hit this year The crowd as seen from behind the stage
I'm seeing a future cello player here The barker rounding up the crowd I guess Big Bird got the city's approval
The caricature artist was a huge hit this year The "Whispering Woods" started with none other than you guessed it... The Cat in the Hat! The concession crew hard at work One of my most loyal and hardest workers always makes sure eveyone has popcorn Of course, what's Halloween Hallows without crafts?
Dora the Explorer was loved by all And all loved Elmo as well The Eye Drop, one of 17 games on the Midway "I'm seeing Sponge Bob in your future" It's hard keeping a dead hand down
Faster than a speeding Deere Yes... we were tossing heads We were honored to have Healthy Smile Dental Center join us this year One of the favorites on the Midway, The Haunted Hog Races Horns of Horror
Deep in the woods is Grandmother's house The first year of a small kids area
went really well
It can't be as bad as it sounds, can it? Hmm, I guess so Nothing like spending the day playing with skulls
By the end of the day, I felt like I was the one losing my head Back in the "Whispering Woods" Mary Poppins kept the kids in check You know, it's not a complete day until you've been lost in the maze Wasn't sure about it at first. But it came together better than I could have ever imagined No Midway is complete without the High Stryker
"Parents as Teachers" - our most loyal repeat partner That's one for the picture books Bet you never thought you would see a mini-golf hole on a Midway The Dragon's Horde... more fun then it looked The entrance to the "Whispering Woods" is backed up every year, guess that's a good sign
With a little hard work and 2 thousand mosquito bites, we were able to Turn this Into this Into this And then into this
One of these days we are going to do a night show Every kid was a winner at the redemption center, but next time I'll know... not as many choices and place it further
from the games
But the games were much more fun than... ...the prizes anyway
I mean really, where else can you ride a horse and... ... look this good doing it? The dreaded Spooky Spider
Skee Ball
I want one of these in my back yard What ever happened to the cute fishing game?
The most complicated game of the day was also the most popular game of the day The Whack-A-Ghoul was loved by kids and adults alike My, what big teeth you have Grandma Will Little Red Riding Hood ever find Grandma's house?
